From Core Values to Cold Stone

Life is Good at The Gathering. We have had an incredible and intimate time processing through our Core Values. As we ended with the value of empowerment, we discovered that the culture that we are creating is one that builds and lifts up one another. This is a value-that those who are apart of our community discover who they are, are affirmed in their strengths and released to pour out to others. As we are empowered by the Holy Spirit, we empower one another to live our best lives. This includes growing, but never "capping" out. As the core team at the Gathering is preparing for our next steps, may we continue to celebrate and affirm one another in this wonderful journey.

This Saturday at the Gathering: We're meeting at Cold Stone in the Valencia Promenade on McBean Parkway. It's next to Peet's Coffee. See you at 7pm.

Wholeness -Where It Begins

This week at the Gathering- We are reading John Chapter 4: 1-42 before we meet together. While you read the story of the Samaritan woman reflect on the following:
1. What is the context of this story?
2. What is highlighted for you?
3. How does the message apply to your own life and your family?
4. How does the message apply to The Gathering?

Come prepared to share your insights as we dive into this chapter together. We meet at the Richey's at 7pm. Special Note: Everyone bring their favorite fall treat! See you then.

Core Values-Who The Gathering Is

Every action begins with a thought. Knowing who we are affects what we do. When we don’t know who are we open ourselves to behaviors that are inconsistent with our desires. Often, we are unaware that we are being inconsistent and we wonder, why me or maybe why NOT me? By knowing who we are we have the ability to make the choices that reflect our desires. So knowing is KEY for it shapes all that we do in life. For the Gathering, we must know who are so that we function and serve out of purpose which will allow us to measure ourselves and keep us intentional in our direction.

Based on our initial discussion of "who we are" at the Spragues, this list was compiled. We are working three value carefully and specifically each week.

· Inspired
· Relevant
· Active
· Life Giving

III. Wholeness

· Forgiven and Healed
· Accountable

IV. Community (Ephesians 5)

A People of Praise

Caleb Quaye brought a strong word to us regarding Worship- We are a people of praise. It was a powerful time as he shared the word and taught with insight and depth. In fact, most of us continue to reflect upon the concepts of being OF God and the power of reconciliation. The Gathering will continue on our journey of rediscovering the beautiful truths presented. Let us remember that we ARE people of PRAISE!

P-People-We are His People
R-Righteous-We are a Righteous People
A-Access-We are people of Access
I-Indwelt-We are people indwelt by the Spirit
S- Strength-We are people of Strength
E-Endurance-We are people of Endurance

IMPORTANT LOCATION INFORMATION
We will be meeting at Jimmy and Dorenda Sprague's Home for the following weeks: Saturday, September 27th, and Saturday, October 4th!

Worship and Prayer

Our time of worship and prayer was extremely powerful this week. God is blessing the Gathering and we are growing together. We were excited to welcome Rod and Teresa Koop and Andrew and Dixie Mitchell. Both couples bring a wealth of experience, insight and leadership. It was great to have them!

The Gathering continued through the Book of Haggai and touched on the three issues facing the Israelites at the time-disinterest (in building) discouragement (in building and building and building) and lastly, dissatisfaction (with more of the same.) Haven't we all been here? Haggai encouraged the people to worship by laying the first stone of the temple. He encouraged the people to be strong, stand firm and work for the glory of this latter temple will be greater than the former. And he encouraged them to live holy lives. In the midst of all of these directives, God promises to be with them and to bless them.

We concluded with an intentional point of prayer of protection over each couple. God's presence was very real and our time together was marked by the prophetic. God is with the Gathering as we build something new. He has promised to bless us corporately and individually and He is doing it!

Everyone has a story to share...so let's do it this Saturday. Hope you can come!

Join us this Saturday night at 7 pm.
